Introduction.
Westair Engineering Services Limited, is part of the Westair Group of
Companies, formed on the 1st June 1987 to undertake all engineering duties previously carried out by Westair Flying Services.
Westair has full engineering facilities on site. Our qualified engineers can perform any maintenance you require, taking utmost care in all your aircraft servicing.
The main engineering activities of the Company are:- Servicing of aircraft, Engines, accessories, equipment and the sale of aircraft
spare parts.
Scope of Work.
The Engineering department has gradually extended its scope of work. As
an authorised Cessna Single Engine, Multi Engine and Caravan 208 Service Centre, it
carries out all aspects of maintenance on the Cessna Piston Engine range of aircraft, Cessna 208, 406, 425 and Cessna Citation Turbo-Prop/Jet Engine aircraft.
Maintenance is also carried out on a large range of general aircraft up to 5700 kgs; including Piper Single and Multi Engine aircraft,
Beechcraft A36, B55, B60, B95, Beech 76, King Air C90, B200, SOCATA TB9, TB10, TB20, Partenavia P68 series, Grumman AA5,
Pierre Robin 1180T, DH1 Chipmunk and Pitts S2A.

Approvals
The Company holds an approval issued by the Joint Airworthiness Authority, Approval No CAA/00060.
This approval allows the Company to maintain aircraft i.a.w the requirements of JAR-145 maintenance procedures. The Company is also
approved by BAE Systems International Programmes to maintain BAE Systems Civil registered aircraft upto 2730 kg and the
supply of Cessna components for export to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Engineering operated under the terms of a Civil Aviation Authority B1 Approval system for 30 years, as time has moved on
with the introduction of the Joint Airworthiness Authority, Westair made the decision to gain an approval in accordance with JAR-145.
This approval was granted in 1993. Subsequently, the scope of approval has been expanded to reflect Westair’s commitment to
stay abreast of a rapidly changing industry.
As well as the JAR-145, our Base Maintenance Manager, Mr Peter Harris also holds
the following qualifications
- CAA A & C Licence
- FAA A & P Licence
- DoT Licence
- PFA Licence

Engineering Dept
All aspects of engineering carried out on the light aircraft are performed in the Western Hangar.
For the larger aircraft like the Caravan 208/F406 and Citation Bravo there is a specialised area located in the Eastern Hangar.
The work carried out on the LAMS aircraft vary from simple defects arising from flight defects to Star Annual Inspections and
Minor/Major Modifications. The work carried out on the Larger aircraft again start from Defects reported from the pilots to Modifications.
Quality Control
The Quality Department is responsible for :-
Implementing a quality audit programme in which compliance with all maintenance procedures is reviewed at regular intervals.
Reliability Monitoring -Defect analysis in respect of aircraft undergoing maintenance so that any adverse trends are identified.
Assessing suppliers of new and used components & materials for satisfactory product quality.
Assessing external specialist services required to be used by the company.

The Technical library holds an extensive selection of manuals from Aircraft Maintenance manuals to Carburettor Manuals, these manuals include the Cessna range of aircraft, Piper Aircraft, Beech Aircraft etc…..
Formats available are Hard-Copy, Aerofiche and CD-ROMS.

both lead acid and ni-cad batteries |
Operations

Operations department controls all aspects of the aircraft charter.
From organising the refuellers, passport control, handling agents and the pilots, ensuring that the customers have a hassle free journey and enjoy their flight with Westair. |
