Westair Fly Outs 2011
Saturday 18th June Castle Kennedy Barbeque!
We start the year with short, half-day trip, to Castle Kennedy, for an informal BBQ at the airfield. For the third year running, this gentle start to the flying year is a relaxing, informal and welcoming outing – well worth a visit and with lovely scenery all the way.
Saturday 9th July, Perranporth, Cornwall
One of the most spectacular airfields in the UK, Perranporth is perched on the top of 300 foot high cliffs on the north coast of Cornwall. It was a wartime fighter airfield and is one of the best preserved fighter airfields in the UK. Routing will be over the Welsh hills and coast and then down the north coast of Devon and Cornwall, going over Tintagel Castle of King Arthur fame. Stopping at Pembrey (for breakfast) outbound and Swansea on the return.
Saturday 3rd September, Mull
NOT QUITE our annual trip to Oban! This year, we are going to take lunch at the beautiful grass airfield in Glenforsa, Mull. Possibly one of the most beautifully located airfields in Britain and certainly one of the best drained grass strips I know. Outbound via Castle Kennedy for breakfast and return via Oban for fuel and Jammy Dodgers!
