State of the art Commercial Pilot and Instrument training

Its been a busy few weeks here at Westair Flying School with full time Multi Engine Rating and Commercial Pilot Licence courses. We are heading towards the finish line with one student and starting a Multi Engine Instrument rating with another! Both students completing their training on our DA40 and DA62 aircraft. Both aeroplanes are absolutely state of the art with features such as the Garmin G1000, 3 axis autopilot, excellent fuel efficiency and interiors better then some luxury cars, there is no question as to why they are proving to be popular training options.

Flying aeroplanes of this standard coupled with the modular*training approach at Westair no doubt offers an excellent choice for future Commercial Pilots. There is no question that now is a great time to start flight training and we think the modular route offers the best choice for cost efficiency and overall experience and skills gained.

What is the Modular Route?

Modular flight training consists of a series of individual courses that are done over a period of time. This route starts with the Private Pilot Licence. Once that is completed you will complete hour building and ATPL theoretical examinations. Finally you will complete a number of commercial courses including the Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL), Instrument Rating (IR) and a Multi Crew Cooperation Course (MCC).

The main difference with Modular training tends to be cheaper, costing in the region of £60,000, roughly £40,000 less than the integrated route!
