Westair Aircraft Hangarage – Hangar 1 and Hangar 8
Below is a copy of an open letter from John Westoby to all aircraft owners and pilots who may be interested in hangaring aircraft with Westair at Blackpool Airport
Thank you for enquiring about hangar space in Westair Hangar 8. I am sorry for the delayed response but I am delighted to say things are now becoming clearer, and therefore I am able to confirm terms and prices.
Westair Flying Services is expecting to continue with its leases in Hangar 1 in some form into the medium term. To that end we are able to offer two alternatives: hangar space in either Hangar 8 or in Hangar 1.
Space at Hangar 8 is likely to be at a premium and we must of course give priority to our hangarage and maintenance clients.
As the airport has recently changed hands and the new owners have not yet made their position clear, in the short term a space in Hangar 1 will have to be on a one month notice basis. This may lead to prices changes, as we are still negotiating with the airport regarding the leases. However we are optimistic that at least we are now talking to an owner with the best interest of the airport at heart.
Those clients who opt to stay in Hangar 8 will transition from their existing arrangements on to the Westair Hangar 8 contracts, subject to signing them and making payment arrangements.
Those clients who opt to move to Westair Hangar 1 will need to vacate Hangar 8 before 5th January 2018. To make for an easy transition, any client who has signed up for this option will be able to move in to Hangar 1 from 1st December 2017, and there will be no charge applied for the month of December: the first hangar rental charge will be effective from 1st January 2018.Â
Any client in Hangar 8 who is not going forward with one of these options will need to vacate Hangar 8 by 5th January 2018.Â
This letter and the pricing options and details shown below will soon be made available on the Westair website, but I wanted to give existing clients of Hangar 1 and Hangar 8 the first opportunity to reserve a space.
